Plymouth Argyle boss Paul Sturrock is planning talks over a permanent deal for on-loan Manchester United full-back David Gray.
The Scotland Under 21 international is enjoying a second loan spell at Home Park, but is due to return to United before Christmas.
Sturrock is keen to hang on to Gray, who has made nine appearances this season, and intends to ask United if the youngster is for sale.
"It is definitely something to talk about; something to see where Manchester United are coming from," Sturrock told The Herald.
"He would definitely be one player we would be interested in."
The Pilgrims boss also wants to keep Shane Lowry at the club, but doubts Aston Villa will let the defender join on a permanent basis.
He added: "I wouldn't expect to have a chance of signing him permanently.
"I do feel we have benefited his career and I think there is no harm in him being with us until the end of the season.
"Both Lowry and Gray would be a miss if they left, so we will have to wait and see how the conversations go."
