Aberdeen boss Mark McGhee has declared his interest in signing Motherwell winger Jim O'Brien.
McGhee is drawing his list of targets as he looks to bolster his squad and O'Brien is on his wanted list.
O'Brien is out of contract at the end of the season and could leave Motherwell for free in the summer.
McGhee knows all about O'Brien having signed him during his time in charge of Motherwell but, although he admits he could be interested in signing him again, he insists no move has been made for the 22-year-old as yet.
"We haven't declared an interest," McGhee told the club's official website.
"There's no doubt about it that Jim O'Brien would be in that category in the sense that he is out of contract and he is a player that we know and we admire."
McGhee has also been linked with Plymouth midfielder Jim Paterson, but the Dons boss is remaining coy regarding any move.
"He's a player we know is good enough to come to Aberdeen," added McGhee. "But, again, we've made no moves to make that happen."
