Zavon Hines is eager to seize his West Ham chance should Carlton Cole require a spell on the sidelines.

Youngster ready to replace Cole against Toffees

Zavon Hines is eager to seize his chance in West Ham's starting XI should Carlton Cole require a spell on the sidelines. The England international limped out of Wednesday's crucial 2-1 home win over Aston Villa, although the knock is not thought to be too serious. Hines has made nine Premier League appearances for Gianfranco Zola's side this term, but has made only three starts for the East Londoners. The Jamaican-born 20-year-old, who scored a last-gasp winner against Villa, is keen to impress should he get the nod against Everton this weekend.

Chance

"I'm a very different player to Carlton, who's been tremendous for us so far, but I'm ready to do my level best," he told the Evening Standard. "It's all about taking your chance when you get it. "I had been plugging away in the reserves but I've got my opportunity this season and I've tried to take it."
