Sir Alex Ferguson is confident Fabio da Silva will have his yellow card against Barnsley overturned by the Football Association.
Manchester United have appealed the caution citing mistaken identity as twin brother Rafael was the one responsible for the foul on Jamal Campbell-Ryce in the midweek Carling Cup clash.
Ferguson thought it was only fair that the club appeal the decision and he awaits the committee's verdict.
The Red Devils boss admitted he was only made aware of the situation when the Brazilian pair spoke to him after the game.
"I did not know about it," he said. "The pair mentioned it themselves. It is right (to appeal).
"If it came to January and he (Fabio) got five bookings and a ban then he would feel a bit aggrieved.
"I don't think there is any issue about it."
