Manchester City are reportedly weighing up a bid for Sporting defender Daniel Carrico.
The Portugal Under 21 international broke into Sporting's senior ranks a year ago, and has been a regular fixture in their backline ever since.
His displays for the Portuguese giants have impressed a number of clubs across Europe, and Portuguese news daily A BOLA suggests City are hot on the trail of the defender.
However, the Blues would likely have to fend off interest from Atletico Madrid, who are also believed to be chasing the youngster's signature.
Carrico, who is tied to Sporting until 2013, has a €20million buy-out clause included in his current deal at the Jose Alvalade.
