Colchester United have extended the loan of Wolves defender Danny Batth until the end of the season.
Batth has impressed in making five appearances for the League One club since joining Colchester on an initial month's loan in September.
His deal was due to expire after Saturday's game against Wycombe Wanderers, but Us boss Aidy Boothroyd has confirmed the youngster has agreed to stay at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
"I spoke to Mick McCarthy this morning and once things go through, we will be extending his loan until the end of the season," Boothroyd told the club's official website.
"He has done really well, when you consider that he hadn't played a league game before joining us.
"Sometimes you have to throw players in at the deep end and see if they will sink or swim, and he has proven himself to be a very good swimmer.
"He has a lot to learn and he has been tested by some very good players - the likes of Scott McGleish and James Scowcroft who have been around the block, and he will learn an awful lot playing against players like that."
