Fabio Cannavaro is determined to help Italy defend their World Cup crown after being cleared of any doping offence.
It was revealed earlier this month that the veteran defender had failed a drugs test, but the case has now been dropped by the Italian Olympic Committee.
Cannavaro, who had tested positive as a result of an emergency treatment he used on a bee sting, is now looking to put the matter behind him.
A drugs ban at this stage in the 36-year-old's career might have led him into early retirement, but he knows how he would like to go out.
"If you want to get rid of me, let me raise that cup," said Cannavaro. "To win back the World Cup would be a miracle."
Italy have booked their place in next summer's tournament in South Africa and Cannavaro believes they will be one of the teams to beat.
He said: "Brazil and Spain will be a cut above the rest, but then we are there too."
