Hartlepool boss Chris Turner again looks set to be without James Brown and Peter Hartley for the home clash with Brentford.

Striker Brown and defender Hartley are struggling with back and hip injuries respectively and Turner conceded: "I don't think they'll be playing on Friday. They are very close but Friday will come too soon."

Turner looks set to make changes after a number of his fringe players failed to sparkle in Tuesday's Johnstone Paint Trophy against Grimsby.

Pools lost 2-0 at Victoria Park and Armann Bjornsson, Colin Larkin, Jonny Rowell and Leon McSweeney struggled to make an impression.

First-choice strikers Adam Boyd and Denis Behan came on as substitutes shortly after the hour mark and seem certain to be restored to the starting line-up.
