Sheffield United forward Jordan Robertson has been jailed for 32 months for killing a father of five in a car crash on Christmas Day.
The 21-year-old was handed the sentence at Leicester Crown Court after pleading guilty to death by dangerous driving.
Robertson hit Omar Mohamed's Ford Galaxy on the southbound carriageway of the M1 near Lutterworth in Leicestershire causing Mr Mohamed to die from his injuries on Boxing Day.
The youngster later told police that he was trying to change songs on his ipod when the crash happened.
Robertson was on loan at Southampton at the time of the crash but was most recently on loan at League Two side Bury.
A Sheffield United spokesman said: "The club's thoughts are still primarily with the family of the victim at the moment but at the moment it is too early to say anything else."
