Chelsea defender Paulo Ferreira has been called up to the Portugal squad by Carlos Queiroz.
Ferreira had been out since January but he has recovered from a long-term knee injury and will be available for the crucial World Cup Qualifiers against Hungary and Malta.
Queiroz's team are third in Group One, five points behind leaders Denmark and two points behind second-place Sweden, and the former Real Madrid boss is hoping for a change in fortunes.
"The set of players who are on this list gives me security," he said.
"I am optimistic that we will meet out objectives which are to win the two games against Hungary and Malta.
"We have a good team, we have players full of belief, a fantastic team spirit and an extreme desire to achieve the ultimate goal which is to qualify for the World Cup."
