Burnley could be handed a boost with the possible return of captain Steven Caldwell for this weekend's clash with Birmingham.
Caldwell has yet to figure for Burnley this season after picking up a groin injury on international duty for Scotland.
The former Newcastle man was an unused substitute in last weekend's 5-0 mauling at Tottenham and if he proves his fitness in a reserve-team encounter with Hull he could feature for the first team this weekend.
The return of Caldwell would be a welcome lift for Clarets boss Owen Coyle as his side have struggled in defence, especially away from Turf Moor.
"The skipper comes back into the equation, as they all do," Coyle told the Lancashire Telegraph.
"I know what the problems were (at Spurs), it was there for me to see. We'll look to address that."
