French striker has ban cut from three games to two

Panathinaikos have been boosted by the news Djibril Cisse will be available for their Europa League clash with Sturm Graz. The French striker was shown a straight red card in the Champions League play-off defeat by Atletico Madrid and received a three-match European ban. But on appeal that was reduced to two games by Uefa on Tuesday, with the third match being suspended for one year and it will come into effect if Cisse is booked during that period. The 28-year-old is therefore free to feature in what could be a crucial game for Pana's hopes of progressing from Group F. The Greek side lost their group opener at home to Fenerbahce and Cisse will also sit out Thursday's trip to face Dinamo Bucharest. Pana then return to Athens to host Sturm Graz in the third of their six group games on October 22, with ex-Sunderland striker Cisse set to lead their attack.
