Emmerson Boyce has warned his Wigan team-mates against basking in the glory of beating Chelsea.
The Latics caused the upset of last weekend as they ended the Blues' 100 per cent start to the season after Saturday's 3-1 win at the DW Stadium.
The shock victory against Carlo Ancelotti's title challengers represents Roberto Martinez's side's first success against a 'big four' club in 35 attempts and the Wigan players could be forgiven for being on cloud nine after the result
But Boyce is determined not to let the famous win deter the Latics' Premier League mission for a top 10 finish as the centre-back prepares for the club's next test - an away trip to struggling Hull City.
Boyce told Wigan Today: "We have beaten Chelsea and now we have to go Hull who lost 6-1 to Liverpool, but that defeat makes for dangerous opponents.
"We will go to the KC Stadium full of confidence but now we have to show another side of our game.
"We are not playing against one of the top four, we are playing against a team that has come off the back of a bad result and they will be fired up for the game.
"So we've got to show what a good team we are by going to Hull and putting in a performance like we did against Chelsea.
"If we go to Hull and lose it would be a major disappointment and it would mean this result meant less.
"Our best final league position has been 10th so we've got to beat that and that's what we will be looking to do.
"We felt that we should have finished in the top eight last year, but we had a disappointing end to the season and our league position didn't really reflect what a good season we had.
"Now the new manager has come in and he has told us where he wants us to be so it is up to us now to finish as high up the table as we can."
