Barnsley have confirmed the signing of Slovenia international Suad Filekovic on a short-term contract.
The defender was initially on trial under former Tykes boss Simon Davey but new boss Mark Robins was also keen to cast his eye over the 31-year-old.
Filekovic, who has been capped 14 times by Slovenia, impressed enough during his trial period at Oakwell to be rewarded with a contract until January from where the situation will be assessed.
Filekovic arrives on a free transfer after allowing his contract with NK Maribor, in his native country, to run out at the end of last season.
The former Hajduk Split man should receive international clearance later this week enabling him to make his debut at QPR on Saturday should he be selected.
