Joe Cole and Paulo Ferreira each took a step towards recovering from knee injury after coming through a training ground match unscathed.
Midfielder Cole has been sidelined since suffering cruciate knee ligament damage in an FA Cup tie against Southend in January and has not played since, but managed to score in the 60-minute workout.
Meanwhile, Portuguese full-back Ferreira has not played since damaging his anterior cruciate ligament during training back in April but impressed in front of the watching Carlo Ancelotti as he bombed up and down the right.
In the wake of Chelsea's transfer embargo, the pair will seem like new signings to Ancelotti and are now thought to be just weeks away from making full recoveries, but Cole is not getting carried away just yet.
"It's nice to be playing football again," Cold told Chelsea's official website.
"But I am under no illusions and this doesn't mean I am declaring myself fit. I am going to take every day as it comes and this game was part of the rehab.
"I am just trying to keep the knee strong and keep going forward."
