Celtic manager Tony Mowbray has rubbished the transfer rumours surrounding his top players.

Scott Brown and Aiden McGeady have recently been linked with Tottenham, while Brown is also thought to be attracting interest from Everton.

Scott McDonald is the latest said to be heading south, with Wigan mentioned as potential suitors.

But Mowbray insists he has had no enquiries regarding the trio.

"Two weeks ago, it was Scott Brown off for £12m," he said.

"Last week it was Aiden McGeady, this week it's Scott McDonald.

No calls

"I've never had calls on these players, yet it fills somebody's newspapers."

Celtic are in no need to sell having boosted the club coffers with Italian midfielder Massimo Donati's transfer to Bari last week.

Mowbray confirmed that little - if any - of that cash would be made available for him to spend before the transfer window shuts, though.

"The club are looking to get a few quid back in, so the money is not openly there to go and spend," he added.

"But there are one or two things happening behind the scenes that we might be able to help the squad with."
