Martin O'Neill confirmed he will look to add to his squad after Aston Villa secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Fulham on Sunday.

An own goal from John Paintsil and a second-half strike from Gabriel Agbonlahor handed Villa their first home victory of the season.

O'Neill was pleased with the display and will now turn his attention to bolstering his side before the transfer window closes.

The former Celtic boss also failed to confirm if defender Richard Dunne is any closer to signing from Manchester City.

O'Neill told Sky Sports: "I have not heard anything today (about Dunne). Concentration was totally on the game.

"But we will obviously try and add to the squad before Tuesday at five o'clock."

Of his team's display against Fulham, O'Neill said: "It was very pleasing to have won at home, that was important for us because our home record last season wasn't fantastic.

"I am delighted we have won three games in a week.

"I thought in the last 15 or 20 minutes we got a little bit tired, as Fulham came more into the game, but the second goal was the defining moment."
