Notts County boss Ian McParland is still trying to sign Portsmouth teenager Matt Ritchie as he looks to add to his squad before the transfer deadline.
McParland has spent the past few weeks hoping to put together a deal for Ritchie, who impressed on loan at Dagenham & Redbridge last season.
The winger has yet to make his first-team debut for Pompey, but was rewarded with a new two-year contract over the summer.
Ambitious League Two side County are keen on either a loan or permanent deal for the 19-year-old and McParland hopes his chase bears fruit.
"I'm hoping to bring a couple of players in by deadline day and if not it will be loan signings," said McParland.
"We're chasing Matt Ritchie who is a good little player, but we still want another couple."
