Alan Tate has signed a new Swansea deal to keep him at the Liberty Stadium for at least four more years.
The defender has committed his future to Swansea until 2013, while the contract also includes the option for a fifth year.
Tate has been with the club for seven years and chairman Huw Jenkins is delighted to secure his services for such a long time to come.
"To have someone like Alan signing a long-term deal is a start and a step in the right direction," said Jenkins.
"We are working our way through the current squad to make sure we have commitment from our players for the next few years.
"We are starting to settle things down at the club after the changes during the close-season.
"We all know about Alan's commitment and loyalty to the club and the fact he is happy living in the city, and that is nice to see."
