Argentine ace agrees loan switch to capital giants

Nicolas Burdisso has confirmed that he is to leave Inter Milan and join their Serie A rivals Roma on loan. The Argentina international was widely tipped to be on the move this summer after struggling to hold down a regular role under Jose Mourinho. A move to Chelsea was touted, with Inter believed to be keen on using Burdisso as a makeweight in a double swoop for Ricardo Carvalho and Deco. Such a switch failed to materialise, but the 28-year-old defender has now revealed that he is on his way to Roma to sign a season-long deal with the capital club. "It is all done, I'm a Roma player," he told Radio Radio. "I'm packing my bags and coming to Rome to sign." Roma will begin their 2009/10 campaign away at Genoa on Sunday and Burdisso's agent hopes an agreement will have been pushed through in time for his client to feature in that contest. "The verbal agreement has been made and all that is missing is his signature," said Fernando Higaldo. "But we are flying there to sign."
