Fulham manager Roy Hodgson has blasted Amkar Perm defender Dmitry Belorukov for putting Andy Johnson out injured for 'a long time'.
Striker Johnson dislocated a shoulder in Thursday's 3-1 Europa League play-off first-leg victory over the Russian side and has been ruled out for up to eight weeks.
The injury sustained by Johnson, who, along with Bobby Zamora and Clint Dempsey, scored on the night, was caused by a body-check from Belorukov.
And after watching the Russian centre-back avoid a red card following the incident, Hodgson has been left incensed.
"It was a good win against a difficult team but the game has been marred by the unbelievably blatant challenge on Andy Johnson," he said.
"It has dislocated his collarbone and put him out for a long time. I don't think there's any doubt the defender should have been sent off."
But Johnson's injury will not impact upon Hodgson's transfer plans, with the Cottagers boss maintaining he only wants to sign one striker.
"We're looking to sign another front player so we'll consider bringing someone in, but that's not because Andy is injured but because we need another front player," he said.
