Boss confident deal will go ahead

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has confirmed talks for the transfer of Jonathan Greening from West Brom are ongoing. The Cottagers have been chasing the Baggies' captain for most of the summer and have had three bids rejected by the club. However, a £4million offer is expected to be enough for Hodgson to finally land his fourth target of the summer. "Negotiations are ongoing and have been for a long time. I've been led to believe we're getting closer to a conclusion," he said. "Jonathan is keen to come and he'd be a great addition to our squad in the same way Damien (Duff) is. "He can play on the left and also centrally. He will put pressure on Danny Murphy and Dickson Etuhu." Winger Damien Duff arrived from Newcastle in a £4million deal on Tuesday and became the club's third summer signing after Stephen Kelly and Bjorn Helge Riise. Hodgson added: "If Greening comes in that will be close to the end, we might want one more player. But if we don't sign anyone else I'll still be happy with the squad as it is."
