Gareth Southgate has played down speculation Middlesbrough are to bid for Aberdeen's Lee Miller.
Boro dispatched scout Gordon McQueen to assess Miller's performance in their weekend clash with Celtic.
However, McQueen left Pittodrie at half-time with the Dons trailing 3-0 to Tony Mowbray's side.
He was clearly unimpressed with the former Bristol City man, amid reports Boro were to bid £700,000 for his signature.
Southgate now claims there is nothing in the reports he is to bid for Miller, who had been touted as a possible replacement for Afonso Alves.
"There is no truth in it whatsoever," he told the Press and Journal.
