Philippe Mexes' agent has played down suggestions the Roma defender could be set to join Chelsea.
The Blues are reportedly preparing a bid of 14million euros (£12m) plus Ricardo Carvalho in exchange for Mexes.
They have been linked with the Frenchman for much of the summer but his representative Olivier Joanneaux doubts a move will go ahead.
27-year-old Mexes, who joined Roma from Auxerre in 2004, is a key player at the Stadio Olimpico and has previously stated he does not want to leave the Italian capital.
"Chelsea? Personally at least, I do not think there is any truth to it," Joanneaux told tuttomercatoweb.com.
"Is there any news in general regarding my client? Not as far as I know, or rather Roma want to keep the player who, in turn, is fully focused on the new season that is about to start."
