Winger Jerome Thomas is set to become West Brom's fifth summer signing after agreeing terms, as previously revealed by skysports.com.
The one-time Arsenal trainee had been on the lookout for a new club after his Portsmouth contract expired at the end of last season.
The 26-year-old had trials with Wolves and Hull City before linking up with Roberto Di Matteo at The Hawthorns.
Thomas rose to prominence at Charlton, where he made over 100 league appearances in a four-year spell for The Addicks.
He made just three league appearances for Pompey last season in what proved an injury-hit campaign
Di Matteo has been busy in the transfer market this summer after snapping up Simon Cox, Reuben Reid, Youssouf Mulumbu and Joe Mattock.
