Skysports.com understands Plymouth are closing in on the signing of Celtic striker Cillian Sheridan.
Plymouth are believed to have held talks with Celtic about taking the Republic of Ireland Under 21 international on a season-long loan.
Sheridan, who scored four goals in 16 appearances for Celtic last season, is well down the pecking order at Parkhead and Bhoys boss Tony Mowbray could be willing to loan him out.
The 20-year-old enjoyed a loan spell at Motherwell for the second half of last season and Celtic are prepared to farm him out again so that he can continue his development.
Plymouth chief Paul Sturrock is keen to bolster his attacking options having lost Bradley Wright-Phillips to injury and he is hoping to get the green light from Celtic to take Sheridan on loan.
