Ipswich manager Roy Keane has contacted Tottenham regarding a loan move for Mexican forward Giovanni Dos Santos.
The 20-year-old played eight times for the Tractor Boys at the end of last season and became a fans' favourite at Portman Road.
A number of top clubs are rumoured to be interested in the former Barcelona youngster, with Spanish clubs Espanyol and Deportivo La Coruna reportedly trying to secure his permanent signature.
But Town boss Keane is hoping the Mexican's experience on loan last year will help convince Spurs to let him return.
"I spoke to Harry Redknapp about Gio when he was here last year," he said.
"They know they get looked after and they know they are coming to a real club and a manager that will make sure they train properly and be on time. That hopefully helps in our dealing with any Premier League teams."
