Tranmere Rovers have snapped up Blackburn Rovers defender Gavin Gunning on a one-month loan deal.
The teenager has yet to make a first-team appearance for Blackburn and has been allowed out to gain experience in League One.
He could be involved in Saturday's season opener against Yeovil Town and Tranmere boss John Barnes is happy with his latest recruit.
"I'm delighted to be able to bring Gavin to Tranmere on loan," Barnes told the club's official website.
"He is another young, talented defender who will improve our squad.
"I'd like to thank Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce for allowing Gavin to join us on loan."
