Portsmouth have confirmed that David Nugent and Marc Wilson have been disciplined following a reported bust-up while on a pre-season training tour.
The duo are understood to have clashed in the corridors of a hotel in Guimares in Portugal where Pompey were staying on Sunday.
Striker Nugent is said to have been hit across the legs with a lump of wood by defender Wilson before team-mates stepped in to break up the scrap.
Pompey, who lost to Benfica at the weekend, have now announced that the pair have been hit with a fine, which is believed to be worth two weeks' wages.
A statement from the club said: "David Nugent and Marc Wilson have both been disciplined for a serious breach of club discipline.
"The matter has been dealt with internally and there will be no further comment from the club."
