Jan Vertonghen has insisted he remains focused on playing well for Ajax after reports connected him with a move to Barcelona.
The versatile Belgian has attracted a lot of attention following a magnificent 2008/9 campaign.
Barcelona are understood to be interested in signing the 22-year-old and he admits he is flattered by the claims.
However, Vertonghen maintains that he is happy in Amsterdam and is thinking solely about the new Eredivisie campaign.
"Normally I don't think a lot of such reports but when this becomes serious I might have to change my opinion," Vertonghen told Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.
"For the time being I am having an excellent time at Ajax.
"Because of injuries I might have to play as left wing defender but there certainly will come chances for a position in the midfield."
