Stuttgart have announced that they are poised to sign Russia international Pavel Pogrebnyak on a four-year deal from Zenit St Petersburg.
The 25-year-old striker is to undergo a medical with the Bundesliga club on Monday with the transfer due to be completed early next week.
Coach Markus Babbel has moved to land Pogrebnyak to fill the void left by the 35million euros sale of Germany international Mario Gomez to Bayern Munich.
"Apart from Sunday's medical, everything is perfect," Stuttgart sporting director Horst Heldt told www.kicker.de.
"We have agreed a deal with the club and the player."
He will become Stuttgart's second signing of the summer following the arrival of former Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb from Barcelona.
Pogrebnyak has won 13 caps with Russia and helped Zenit lift the 2008 Uefa Cup having joined the club the previous year.
