Notts County boss wants to work with striker again

Notts County manager Ian McParland has tabled a bid for Chesterfield's veteran striker Jack Lester. The 33-year-old has been prolific as ever since he moved down to League Two from Nottingham Forest in 2007. The frontman has scored an impressive 50 goals in 80 games in all competitions for the Spireites in his two seasons at the club. McParland knows all about the striker from their time together at the City Ground, where the Scot was first-team coach, and he is eager to work with the former Grimsby favourite again. "He has been a prolific goalscorer over the last few years and by making a bid for him I think that shows we're quite ambitious," he told the Evening Post. "I've worked with Jack in the past and I know him inside-out, so I just hope we can get him because he would fit the bill perfectly for us."
