Inter Milan defender Marco Materazzi has signed a new deal at the club.
The former Everton man has agreed a new contract to keep him at the San Siro until 2012.
The 35-year-old found himself in and out of Jose Mourinho's side last season, but the Italian international remains part of the plans at Inter, according to club president Massimo Moratti.
"We have prolonged his contract. Mourinho said to me that the player could be useful and I am happy that it has turned out this way," said Moratti.
"Even this year, every time Materazzi has come on he has played well."
