Gregory Vignal's agent has revealed that talks over a move to a Premier League club are at an 'advanced stage'.
The versatile defender has endured a difficult campaign with Lens in Ligue 2 and has been criticised by his own fans in recent weeks.
An arrangement has now been struck so that Vignal will not play at Stade Bollaert again this term, although he will be available for away matches.
It seems unlikely he will stay with Lens next season and agent Jacky Mouyal claims there are French and English clubs interested in securing his services.
Vignal, who left Portsmouth three years ago and also spent time with Liverpool earlier in his career, could therefore be set to return to the Premier League.
Regarding Vignal's situation with Lens, Mouyal told France Football: "We took stock with chairman Gervais Martel and coach Jean-Guy Wallemme. They are fully supporting Gregory.
"They have notably decided to not play him again at home, while he will remain at their disposal for the away matches.
"We have very serious contacts to settle a definitive transfer. French and English teams are on his case.
"Talks with a Premier League club have even reached an advanced stage."
