Port Vale remain interested in signing Stockport County defender Gareth Owen, who is currently on loan at Yeovil Town.
Owen was wanted by Vale last month and appeared to be on the brink of joining the League Two club on loan.
However, the former Stoke City youngster opted for a temporary switch to Yeovil, with a view to a permanent move in January.
Terms have yet to be agreed for Owen to stay at Huish Park and Vale are waiting to pounce, if the stopper returns to Stockport.
Vale chairman Bill Bratt said in The Sentinel: "In Gareth Owen's case, we are keeping our eyes on that one.
"There is money available if the right player comes along.
"We were looking at a lad at Blackburn, but he is involved with the first team now so I think that is over for us."
