Plymouth have taken Marcel Seip off the transfer list after he apologised for not being a substitute.

Defender back in favour after issuing apology

Plymouth Argyle have taken Marcel Seip off the transfer list after he apologised to team-mates for an incident last April. Seip angered manager Paul Sturrock last season when he refused to play as a substitute in the team's 2-1 Home Park defeat to Charlton Athletic. The Dutch defender missed the club's run-in after undergoing a hernia operation and Sturrock is pleased he has now shown commitment towards to the South Coast club.

Clean slate

"Marcel has had the guts to come in and do that and I am very appreciative. As far as I am concerned, the slate is clean now," Sturrock told the club's official website. "He realises that he made a mistake. He will now be brought off the transfer list and will be a valuable part of the team. I am not the type of manager that holds grudges. "It would have been easy for Marcel to think the grass would have been greener but he has shown a commitment to the football club. "As far as I am concerned, today is the last day I want to discuss it. We are now looking forward."
