Midfielder leaves Ipswich to link up with Johnson

Midfielder Gavin Williams has joined Bristol City from Championship rivals Ipswich for an undisclosed fee. The Wales international has signed a two-year contract at Ashton Gate after passing a medical and agreeing personal terms with last season's play-off finalists. A series of injuries restricted Williams to 59 appearances for Ipswich after he moved to Portman Road from West Ham in January 2006. Williams links up again with Robins boss Gary Johnson, who signed the player in 2002 when he was at the helm of Yeovil.
