Tranmere Rovers teenager Craig Curran has signed a new three-year contract.

The striker made a big impression at Prenton Park last season and has secured a deal to stay until 2010.

Rovers boss Ronnie Moore was eager to nail down Curran's long-term future and expects the 17-year-old to build on last term's performances.

"He is a very talented, versatile young centre-forward who has an eye for goal and is a pleasure to work with," Moore told the club's official website.

"We saw glimpses of how good he can be at the end of last season and hopefully there is much more to come this season and beyond.

"Extending Craig's contract shows how important it is to us to keep our best young players at the club."

Curran also outlined his determination to continue making forward strides with the League One side.

"Last season was fantastic for me," said Curran.

"Being involved with the first team was amazing and hopefully this season I can do even better and score more goals."
