Ziani joy at Marseille move

Karim Ziani is confident he can handle the pressure of playing for Marseille after sealing his move from Sochaux.

Marseille have won the chase for the midfielder, who has signed a four-year contract at Stade Velodrome and could soon be joined by Djibril Cisse.

He has been compared to departed winger Franck Ribery, but Ziani insists he will offer something different to his new club.

"I am very happy to wear the shirt that I have always wanted to wear," the Algeria international told But. "It is the fruit of hard work.

"Most of all, I hope I will continue to progress. I am joining a big club that I have always wanted to join.

"I had a few contacts, but since the beginning I always wanted to come to Marseille. They are the club that have insisted the most.

"Franck is Franck, I am me. He has gone, I am coming. We don't play the same football. I don't compare myself to him."

Meanwhile, Jerome Leroy could join Ziani out of the exit door after being told he can leave Sochaux.

The midfielder told RMC: "I have an agreement to leave for ‚é¼300,000 (£200,000) - as a consequence a lot of clubs are interested in me.

"I am still under contract for a season. I think I will complete it.

"If some clubs are more ambitious than Sochaux, I will make the choice to leave, but I can stay as well and finish my contract.

"But if I leave, I won't move abroad."
