Pauleta reveals retirement plan

PSG striker Pauleta has announced that his current deal will be his last.

Paris Saint Germain striker Pauleta has announced that his current deal will be his last.

The Portuguese international will hang up his boots at the end of next season at the age of 34.

Pauleta will then return to his homeland to continue his work in grassroots football.

"I hope to finish my career at the end of next season," Pauleta told AFP. "That is my intention.

"After, I will go back home to work on my football school. I will inaugurate a pitch next month, that is a very important project for me."

Meanwhile, PSG are reportedly considering moves for Auxerre defender Bakari Sagna and Croatia international Dario Srna.

France Under 21 international Sagna has impressed PSG coach Guy Lacombe and could replace Bernard Mendy.

Srna has already spoken with PSG director of sports Alain Roche and his possible arrival would allow David Rozehnal to return to his preferred position of defence.

One player who could be on his way out of Parc des Princes is defender Paulo Cesar, who is rumoured to be top of Real Betis' shopping list during the transfer window.
