Scunthorpe United have signed Sunderland's Richie Ryan on loan.The 20-year-old midfielder has been told that he is free to leave The Stadium of Light and now he has secured a deal with Brian Laws's side.
Ryan will spend an initial month with promotion-chasing Iron, with a view to a longer deal.
The Irishman has made just two first team appearances for Sunderland, which both came in The Premiership, but injury has curtailed his progress over the past 12 months.
