Sunderland are interested in West Ham winger Stewart Downing, according to Sky sources.
Downing, 30, earned a recall to the England set-up last season, playing the first half of the 3-1 friendly win over Scotland in November.
The former Liverpool winger, who scored six times in 42 appearances for the Hammers last season, spent a short spell on loan at Sunderland in 2003.
West Ham paid Liverpool £5m to take him to Upton Park in August 2013 and his current deal runs until the summer of 2017.
