Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has refused to rule out a permanent move for Javier Hernandez after the on-loan forward marked his return to the first team with a goal in his side's 3-0 win at home to Eibar.
Hernandez, who has hardly figured since joining Madrid on a season-long loan from Manchester United last summer, was handed his first league start since October and he took advantage of it by scoring Madrid's second goal against Eibar with a clinical header.
Ancelotti was impressed with the Mexican's display and hinted that the player might be handed the chance to stay on in the Spanish capital.
Speaking after the match, Ancelotti said: "[Chicharito] did very well and worked hard. He scored a goal and could have had another. And as for the future, he is owned by Manchester United. We will see at the end of the season."
Ancelotti said the 4-0 league defeat by Atletico Madrid in February will "motivate" his side to get a result in Tueswday's Champions League quarter-final first leg at the Vicente Calderon.
"It will motivate us. It will be difficult but it's a different game. We are motivated and we will give it our all."
"[Intensity] will be important against Atlético, but there are other factors".
