Birmingham are hopeful Diego Fabbrini will be available to face Wolves on Saturday.

The Italian forward, on loan from Watford, missed Monday's defeat at Bournemouth after suffering a broken nose in training.

But Fabbrini could play in a protective mask in the derby showdown at St Andrew's.

"It was a bit of a blow," boss Gary Rowett told the club's official website. "Diego would possibly have started. He broke his nose in training on Sunday.

"Diego went back to Italy. Hopefully we will be able to get a mask fitted for him and then he will come into contention, potentially, for the weekend.

"We will see what the specialist says."
