Daniel recovery going well

Port Vale forward Colin Daniel is making good progress in his recovery from injury and could return to action early next month.

Daniel has been sidelined since sustaining an ankle injury during the 2-2 draw at home to Bradford on February 7. It is hoped the 27-year-old will resume training later this week and he might be back in first-team contention for the trip to Coventry on March 7, or even the home game against Oldham next Tuesday. Vale manager Rob Page told the Sentinel: "There are good signs with Colin Daniel coming back to fitness. "We have had some good news with him. He has had an injection in his ankle in the back end of last week and we are slowly building him back up to full fitness. "We have to manage it and make sure that he doesn't break down on us again. Hopefully on Thursday he will step it up again and might play a part in training with us. "It is managing him back to full fitness but we don't see anything other than maybe a couple of days into next week and then we should have him back to full fitness."
