Hartlepool have signed Middlesbrough youngster Jordan Jones on a one-month loan deal.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder joins up with Ronnie Moore's side ahead of their League Two clash with Stevenage on Saturday, subject to Football League approval. Jones, capped by Northern Ireland at under-17 level, made his Boro debut in a 4-1 win against Hastings in the third round of the FA Cup in 2013 but has not featured for the first team since. He has made 11 outings for Boro's second string this season and the club's under-21 coach Paul Jenkins believes the loan move will be a beneficial one. Jenkins told the Riverside club's official website: "This is a good move for Jordan. "We've had a terrific season so far at under-21 level, we've never been out of the top four and occasionally top and Jordan had played a part in that. But this isn't about our under-21 team, this is about developing players to have a future in the game. "We've seen how loan moves have benefited players in the past and I've no doubt Jordan will learn a lot from Ronnie Moore. He's a man who has seen everything and deserves the respect he has within the game. Jordan can only benefit from spending time with people like that."
