Sergio Aguero insists there are no concerns over his fitness after he was substituted late on in Manchester City's 4-1 win at Stoke.
Aguero ended a six-game barren run without a goal by netting a double at the Britannia Stadium, with James Milner and Samir Nasri also on target in the City win.
The Argentinian left the field with a back complaint on 73 minutes but took to social media late on Wednesday night to allay any fears about his condition.
He tweeted: "For the ones asking I'm ok. I stepped out only for precaution. Now let's keep on working for the very important upcoming commitments.”
After City’s victory at Stoke - their first ever in the Premier League - manager Manuel Pellegrini played down the seriousness of injury, suggesting Aguero should be fit for their next game.
"He felt something in the back,” the Chilean said.
“My feeling is it is not too serious and he now has 10 days to recover and train well. I hope he will be fit to face Newcastle."
City, who had gone five games without a victory prior to Wednesday, should also have Yaya Toure and new signing Wilifred Bony available following their participation in the African Nations Cup.

City's next fixture is at home to Newcastle on the evening of Saturday 21 February, with the Champions League last-16 first-leg visit of Barcelona the following Tuesday.
