Potter feels right at home

Alfie Potter has described the decision to join AFC Wimbledon for a third time as "a no-brainer".

The 26-year-old winger, who began his youth career with the Dons before returning on loan in 2008, signed a permanent deal with the club on Friday after leaving Oxford by mutual consent. "A few clubs were showing an interest in me, but after I spoke with the manager here it was a no-brainer," Potter told the club's official website. "I'm from the centre of London so I'm close to home and I cannot wait to get started. "I played against Wimbledon earlier in the season and having watched the Liverpool game I know there's a good side here. "The manager (Neal Ardley) told me how he wants to play and that's what I wanted to hear. I'm a winger who likes to get on the ball and try and make things happen." Ardley admitted it was a difficult deal to get over the line with "three or four clubs" interested in the player. "It's been hard work, but we're delighted to announce that we've signed Alfie on a permanent deal," he said. "The signing is announced, but the hard work has gone on for two weeks prior to this."
