Bristol City have signed defender James Tavernier on loan from Championship outfit Wigan.

The 23-year-old will stay with the Robins until the end of the season and becomes their second loan signing of the day from the Championship following the arrival of George Saville from Wolves. "We were looking at James last year," boss Steve Cotterill told the club's official website. "We're pleased to be able to bring him on board, especially after losing Todd Kane who was able to play that wing-back role as well. "He'll give us extra legs and quality during our run in."
