Tottenham are prepared to sell Aaron Lennon in the January transfer window, Sky Sports understands.
The 27-year-old England winger has struggled to break into the first team under manager Mauricio Pochettino this season and is the subject of interest from a host of other Premier League clubs.
And according to Sky sources, if the deal was right for both the player and the club, Spurs would not stand in Lennon’s way if he wished to leave.
Should he do so, it would mark the departure of Tottenham’s current longest-serving player, with Lennon having made over 300 appearances for the club since he signed in the summer of 2005.
The attacker has scored 30 goals in all competitions in that time, and picked up 21 caps for England.
Meanwhile, fellow wideman Andros Townsend has told the club he wishes to stay at White Hart Lane and fight for his place.
Townsend has recently returned to the first team, starting in recent victories over Newcastle and Chelsea, and the goalless draw at home to Manchester United.
A number of Premier League clubs would be interested in signing Townsend on loan, with QPR particularly keen, but Townsend has said he will not leave unless the club tell him to do so.
Townsend told the London Evening Standard: "The club want me here and I want to be here, so that’s all I can say at the minute.
"I’m a Spurs boy. I’ve been at the club since the age of eight so as long as I’m in the team, as I have been over the last few weeks, I’m not looking to go anywhere.
"Unless the club come and tell me they want me to leave then I won’t be going anywhere. I’m fighting for my shirt. The last six or seven windows have been the same, with my name linked with other clubs."
Sky sources understand Tottenham do not anticipate a busy transfer window this January, having already confirmed the arrival of right-back DeAndre Yedlin, who actually signed last summer.
Like all clubs, Spurs have a list of targets but, as things stand, they are not close to bringing any new faces in.
